Gutter sealant to the rescue

Gutter sealant: The quickest way to fix your gutters

If you’ve noticed a crack or a leak in your gutters, you need to act quickly. Leaking gutters can cause flooding, roof problems and damp, but with gutter sealant you can weatherproof your home in no time and save money in the process.

When do I need to use gutter sealant?

If your gutters are showing signs of wear and tear, then it might be time to repair or even replace them. Reach for gutter sealant if:

  • Your gutters have cracks or splits along the seams
  • Your gutters are sagging
  • Your gutters are overflowing
  • There’s water pooling around your home’s foundations
  • You have mould or mildew inside your home

Tip: Keeping gutters clean and repairing them in time will save you lots of money on otherwise costly repairs. Just make sure to use the right gutter joint sealant or gutter leak sealant!

How to apply gutter sealant

Gutters get damaged for many different reasons. They are battered by rain, clogged up with leaves during the autumn or just suffer from wear and time over time. If you notice signs of damage, it’s time to grab your gutter glue and start making repairs.

  1. Clean out your gutter. Scoop out leaves, debris and other clutter and scrub away any rust.
  2. Flush the gutter by spraying it with a hose and then leave to dry.
  3. Once the gutter is dry check it for rust and other damage.
  4. Use gutter sealant to repair any holes in your gutter.
  5. Repair any cracks in the joints or seams by lining up the seams and applying the gutter sealant into the joints. Note that you might need to clamp the parts together.
  6. Leave the sealant to dry for 24 hours.
